Life link and gangblocking

Asked by Cobaltkiller27 9 years ago

If I have say a 5/5 creature with life link and it's blocked by two 4/4 it deals 5 damage to both and they deal 8 total to it and all three die correct? Well how much life would I gain 10 or 5 because it deals 5 damage to each of two creatures 5+5=10 right? Or does it just go by the power of my creature?

Creatures can only deal as much damage as they have power. It doesn't matter how many creatures are blocking it.

If a creature is blocked by more than one creature, the attacking creature's controller decides in what order he will deal the damage to the blocking creatures. He cannot go to the next creature in line until lethal damage has been dealt to the creature before it.

Your 5/5 creature will be double blocked by two 4/4's. You must assign at least 4 damage to the first one before assigning the final 1 point of damage to the second creature.

All damage is dealt at the same time. You will have dealt 4 damage to one of the creatures, and 1 damage to the other one, and they will both have dealt 8 damage to your creature. You will immediately gain 5 life because you dealt a total of 5 damage. Your creature and the blocking creature with 4 damage marked on it will both die simultaneously.
