Keening Stone
Asked by cooknathan 13 years ago
If I got Keening Stone d when I had more than 50% of my library already in my graveyard, would I lose straight away or when I go to draw my next card?
104.3c If a player is required to draw more cards than are left in his or her library, he or she draws the remaining cards, and then loses the game the next time a player would receive priority. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)

An effect only counts as drawing a card if it specifically uses the word "draw". Putting cards from your library into the graveyard or removing them from your library don't.

120.5. If an effect moves cards from a player's library to that player's hand without using the word "draw," the player has not drawn those cards. This makes a difference for abilities that trigger on drawing cards and effects that replace card draws, as well as if the player's library is empty.

Per the rule you stated, you only lose when you are required to draw a card from an empty library.
