if you change a land into a creature and it dies as a creature does it come back as a land or does it go in the graveyard

i recently played someone and turned my land into a 3/3 creature and it said it is still a land but they blocked it with something that had more power the the toughness and put it in my graveyard but i was also told i was able to bring it as a land what one is surposed to happen

It goes into the graveyard. The land was given a power/toughness amount and was destroyed in the trade like any normal creature would be.

In general, when an object has multiple types (such as Land Creature), it follows the rules for all of those types.

When a creature is destroyed due to lethal damage, it's put into its owner's graveyard as a state-based action. Being a land in addition to a creature doesn't allow a permanent to stay on the battlefield; it's still a creature, so it dies like any other creature.
