If Strionic Resonator is activated to copy a morbid trigger like Brimstone Volleys would it copy the morbid damage or just echo Morbid no damage?

Asked by RedCloud2012 11 years ago

I am not sure how or if strionic resonater would copy the morbid triggers effect or just morbid itself so nothing happen say on Brimstone Volley after something died like I cast brimestone volley the before it resolves spear something instant speed then after spear resolves activate resonater to copy brimstones morbid trigger or no?

Brimstone Volley has no triggered ability. It has an if clause, which is what Morbid essentially is. Triggered abilities begin with "when, whenever, or at". You cannot copy any part of Brimstone Volley with Strionic Resonator.

Morbid is an ability word, which is a term that brings together cards with similar functionality, but are not themselves keywords and have no special rules meaning. It's not a triggered ability for the Resonator to copy.

"Morbid" is just a quicker way to say "If a creature died this turn"

I'd generally use the term "online"

Like, the moment you have 7 cards in your graveyard, Threshold comes online.

The moment something dies in a turn, Morbid comes online.

But neither of those has any rules meaning at all, just ways to think about it.

Yea I said morbid could happen when the card is in your hand still then he came up with the clause of the spell being under his control unresolved and causing morbid and the first answer really just repeats what I tried to explain. I should have read the wording clause on the card that way. I probably wouldnt have posted this. I just said here find these words on this card when whenever and at

Really? It must be annoying to post like that. The typing interface is pretty clunky without a USB keyboard.

yep thats why my post replies are slow and have miss spelling at times and when I have to take a mulligan on an answer due to an honest mistake it takes a second or two and somebody already comments and I die a little but man your like the Eye of Sauron you see everything and respond like lightning all times of the day and night. Makes me wonder if you pee! @ Epochalyptik

I normally keep a browser tab open to TappedOut even when I'm doing research or other work. I don't always check it immediately, but I do so often enough to address most questions/comments.
