If a card with a Channel ability has Delve, can Delve pay for the Channel cost?

To my knowledge Channel is an activated ability and not an alternate or additional cost, so my guess is that it cannot, but I am unsure if that's correct.

You have the right idea, there's no interaction here. All Channel abilities are activated abilities, which you can tell because they're written in the format "[cost] : [effect]". Delve only applies to paying the costs for casting a spell.
