How many creatures can be on the battlefield

I used krenko,moboss and my friend said that you can only have five creatures on the battlefield

Your friend is wrong. There is no limit to the number of any kind of permanent that may exist on the battlefield, or any kind of spell that may exist on the stack.

There are many card games that limit the number of objects that can be on the battlefield at one time, but Magic isn't one of them. You can have as many as you're able to play or create.

I'm pretty sure all card games, excluding Magic and Kaijudo, have creature restrictions. Yu-Gi-Oh has 5/6? BuddyFight has 3. Pokemon has 1 main and 5 bench. Vanguard has 1?

The size of the Hearthstone board limits each player to 7 minions.
