Seance has one triggered ability that triggers at each upkeep (both yours and your opponent's). When it triggers, you target a creature card in your graveyard. When it resolves, you have the choice of exiling that creature card from your graveyard to get a token copy of that card put onto the battlefield.

If you choose to get the copy, it is a Spirit in addition to its other creature types. The effect that creates the token also created a delayed triggered ability (DTA) that will exile that token at the beginning of the next end step.

Note that the creature won't be able to attack/use its abilities which require tapping unless it has haste.
