How does Deathtouch work with Double Strike?

Asked by rexxyc 11 years ago

My friend claimed that his double-strike deathtouch killed my creature on the first strike of double-strike killed my creature because it serves as first strike and any damage dealt with deathtouch kills my creature. I feel like this isn't right.

He is correct in the fact that the first point of damage during the first strike combat phase kills your creature, but unless his creature has trample, you take 0 damage since you blocked the creature.
