How do you pronounce "Garruk"?

Asked by MinscAndBoo 11 years ago

This is much more important than rules errata. I can't sleep at night. Is it:

GAHR - RUCK? <-- my vote

GAHR - ROOK?

GARE - RUCK?

GARE - ROOK?

I know, you say tomato, I say tomato. But Wizards surely had an intended spelling. No, I don't want to Google it. I want you guys to tell me what the right pronunciation is.

Here's Mark Rosewater's opinion.

You have to scroll down a while to see the sidebar that gives it, but there's actually an official answer to this: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/feature/437

GAHR-uhk! I knew I was right. Mark Rosewater's pronunciation doesn't make sense. "GARR" is supposed to evoke bestial growling, not the "Gare" of "Gary"!
