Ghired, Conclave Exile and 'tapped' tokens?

Asked by OyeGevoltageSurge 6 months ago

Ghired, Conclave Exilefoil and Gala Greeters

When Ghired enters and I choose to make a tapped treasure from Gala, can I activate the creatures to make untapped treasure or do they also come in tapped?

Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds

Sorry, I meant this Ghired

A copy of a treasure token created in this way will be untapped. Tapped/untapped is a status, not a copiable characteristic, so the copy effect won't consider it when creating the new token. The default way for a permanent to enter the battlefield is untapped, so that's how the token copy will enter.

So with how your question is worded, this is how it would work, if you already have Gala Greeters on field (assuming it was already on field last turn so doesnt have summoning sickness)then you cast Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds, it will trigger Gala and you can make your treasure token. Since Ghired has haste, you can tap it to create a copy of the treasure token. leaving you with 2 treasures. you can then also tap Gala for a 3rd treasure. All treasures will come in untapped unless a card is in play that causes your cards to come in tapped. so you will be able to use your treasures soon as you are done making copies if you so choose.
