Erayo, Soratami Ascendant: Counting the 4 spells -related questions

Asked by Dreno33 12 years ago

When I cast Erayo, Soratami Ascendant , does it count itself as one of the four spells in the turn it was casted?

If I cast Erayo, Soratami Ascendant , does it add up any spells cast BEFORE itself was cast?

It adds up a total of 4 spells, but doesn't matter WHO casted them that turn, correct?

Basically, I am considering this guy as a general for an EDH deck just to mess with my friends, and need to know EVERYTHING there is to know on how he flips and exactly when.

The Nth spell of a turn is always the Nth spell, regardless of whether or not Erayo, Soratami Ascendant is on the battlefield to "see" the spells before and after it. As long as Erayo is on the battlefield when the actual 4th spell of the turn is cast, the ability will trigger (if Erayo was cast that turn, that's also taken into account).

Erayo is banned as a Commander. The card can be in a deck, but not as the Legend in charge of it.

While he is banned as a general in EDH, the format is still a casual format. So as long as your friends you play with say it is ok and agree to it then you are more than welcome to use him. Just know that you just would have to change the commander if you ever play with somebody that will not allow it or in a sanctioned event.

Trust me, after one game your friends will want to re-ban it. =P

Lol Oh I know... However it is still worth the time and effort to ask so you get to make them cry a little :P
