Does Battalion activates if one of your creatures get bounced/killed ?
Asked by DePeluche 12 years ago
Lets say I have 3 creatures and attack with them to activate their "Battallion" ability
Can anyone respond to my attack and make Battalion useless by killing/bouncing one of my creatures after I declared attackers ?
Epoch is correct as usual.
Just a side note: It is good form in a game to tell your opponent you are entering your combat phase to give them a chance to respond. i.e. Don't just start tapping creatures and say, "I attack you with these three creatures" without letting them do something first. I have run into problems with this a few times with cards like Blinding Mage . It can turn a friendly game ugly pretty quick when one player feels they are being "cheated."

Technically, if you rush into the Declare Attackers phase or any other step/phase and your opponent wasn't given priority before the transition, they have the right to back the game up to perform actions.

Yeah I had the same problem yesterday when I was playing the Pre Release, and the Battalion got nuked and all my creatures weakened up and tapped
I ended up being 3rd tough but next time Imma announce the combat phase
Thank you guys =)

No. Battalion triggers whenever the source creature and 2+ other creatures are declared as attackers. Your opponent needs to kill the creature before the Declare Attackers step to prevent it from triggering. Killing it after won't do anything because the ability is already on the stack and not dependent on how many creatures are attacking anymore.
Also, battalion is a triggered ability. It isn't activated.
