Cascade and Replicate
Asked by acbooster 11 years ago
If I have a Djinn Illuminatus on the field and cast something with cascade and replicate it, would I cascade twice or only once?

The copy created by replicate is not cast, so its cascade ability will not trigger. You will only cascade for the original spell.

Ok that's what I thought. I wanted to verify before I did something like that with a Wanderer EDH deck.

Bituminous Blast for a cascade spell.
You would cascade once (assuming you didn't hit another cascade). Cascade only triggers when you cast the spell. You do not cast the copies you get from replicate, they are created on the stack. Therefore, you will not trigger the Cascade abilities with the replicated copies.
