can you extort multiple times?

Asked by expmky 12 years ago

when you cast a spell, you can pay 1b/w to extort... but can you pay more than one and extort with as much mana as you want to tap?

The extort will trigger once for each extort effect you control, and can only be paid just that one time for each of the triggers. If you want to get more extorts off per spell, you'll need to control more permanents with extort effects, because you can't just dump extra mana into a single extort trigger.

You can pay as many times as you have permanents with Extort on them.

Say you have 3 creatures with Extort on them. When you cast a spell, 3 different instances of the Extort etffect will go on the stack. Each individual effect only gives you the option of paying once. You cannot "pump" for extra extort drains because there won't be any extra extort effects on the stack for you to pay for.

I agree with the rest of them however Pontiff of Blight gives all other creatures you control extort. This is a good thing because extort can stack so if you have a creature with extort on it already out and you play Pontiff of Blight you can extort that creature 2 times
