Can I play reinforce ability as an instant?

I have a question.For example Rustic Clachan . Can I use it's reinforce ability as an instant to create an awesome trap?Thanks.

Yes.

Reinforce is an activated ability. Unless otherwise specified, activated abilities may be activated any time you could normally cast an instant. Because reinforce doesn't provide any such restriction, it functions as a normal activated ability.

I thought playing reinforce does not count as an ability, but as a normal spell. Thank you.

No. You aren't casting anything. Reainforce is not an alternate cost. It is an activated ability. You can also see in the longhand of reinforce the colon that defines an activated ability.

Also, lands are never spells. Not even when they have other types, like Artifact or Creature.
