Can I activate this ability an infinite number of times?

If I have a Trespasser il-Vec on the battlefield and, hypothetically, I want to discard my entire hand using its ability, could I do so? I wonder if you can give a creature a static ability like shadow over and over again in this manner.

Yes, you may. You may activate an ability as many times as you can pay it (unless the card says otherwise). Multiple instances of static abilities like flying or shadow are redundant.

Although note that this isn't really an "infinite" number of times, since presumably you'll run out of cards to discard to pay the cost eventually, presumably.
