Can Char tie a game?

If I am at 2 life, and my opponent is at 4, and I cast Char on my opponent, will the game result in a tie? Or because the sentence starts off with inflicting 4 damage on my opponent he/she will die first?

Both of you take damage simultaneously. Then, once Char has resolved, state-based actions check to see that both players are at zero or less life. Before either player receives priority, state-based actions cause both players to lose resulting in a tie.
