Can a creature with vigilance attack and crew a creature in the same attack step?

So, with Kaladesh coming out soon I set my eyes on making a Dwarf Vehicle deck. And I noticed Aerial Responder and I wondered if it was possible to attack with him, then tap him (along with some other creatures) to crew a vehicle like Skysovereign, Consul Flagship and then still attack with skysovereign in the same combat step? Does anybody have an idea about the ruling for this?

No you cannot do this.

At the beginning of the declare attacker's step, you must declare your attacking creatures as a turn-based action. All creatures must be declared simultaneously. You cannot declare one creature, do something else, then declare another creature.
