TappedOut.Net Does Not Understand
TappedOut forum

A couple of things,
1 - We need an MTGO forum with some sub-forums please! Sub forums may include trade, add buddy, play stories, tourny loot (could be general) and of course a general chat.
I use this site while I am at work because wizards is blocked so we need some MTGO forum areas.
2 - TappedOut.Net Does not understand. When having to select format in areas such as "describe the deck you built by selecting format" or even in the favorite format section of the edit profile area. MTGO format does not accurately describe MTGO as a format. There are many many formats on MTGO, even more than when playing paper. Special formats like Momir Basic which is only available online as well as Classic format. I am always needing to select classic but instead, MTGO is the only option I have. This needs to change please. Thanks for reading.
yeah the MTGO format is kinda weird on our site. How to improve?

I'm fine with the site, but as @jcris25 said about the MTGO, there could be an implementation But only if enough players are interested in it. There are already enough "postable" areas that you could discuss in those locations your MTGO strategy.
As for MTGO as a format, If you did the legwork, getting a list of all the cards that exist within that format, I'm sure someone would be happy enough to add and debug it. But this is beyond me. (even make a 1 of deck for all the cards in said format, and in the description or update portion, add any specialty cards that do not exist in the TappedOut.NET database.)
Cheers!

An MTGO area with no sub-forums would be great. I and assuming others in the TO community would be greatful. I will take what I can get.
Keep in mind, It's not about how many might be interested, it's about enlarging an already exhisting population of the site and drawing in more members which will happen.
We don't have to steer off the patch of this great paper oriented community and deck building, but a small 'MTGO' forum would be great.
Thanks for taking it in to consideration. I hope to see it soon.

You don't need to sell the forum to us. I was going to implement it anyway.
You just need to explain what changes need to be made to the formats.

I would suggest a separate identifier to delineate if a deck is MTGO or Non-MTGO paper based. We can pick a format for a deck but a separate identifier to mark as paper or MTGO would be helpful. Removing the MTGO "format" tag in the process.
For example, pauper decks have limited access to cards as they are not online yet. People suggest Hymn to Tourach in pauper decks all the time not understanding that it's not legal online.
It also helps people make meta-game suggestions on decks. The online meta-game is different than the IRL one. Example: The Project X decks of old (Crypt Champion + Saffi Eriksdotter combo) aren't as popular online because of the amount of trigger's and actions often take to much time to be effective. Another example: Mono-red in every format seems to be more prevalent online than in paper, just as Rogue decks seem to be more popular at FNM than in MTGO tournaments.
A separate non-mtgo/mtgo button would alleviate some of these issues (and I'm sure there's others) and would give another level of specificity to users to classify their decks.
A simple quick fix would be to add a MTGO hub if not a separate identifier.

@ottosmagic13: That's the explanation we needed. I think this could be a workable idea. Perhaps we could offer an option below format on the add/edit deck page. Users could select paper or online as their medium.

This site is oriented around the deck builder, not the forums. As a result, we make some compromises. We don't have the level of forum division and management possible with sites using vBulletin (e.g. MTGS). I've done some experimenting with the current forum system to try to get subforums to work, and they don't. I can add an MTGO forum, but the subforums would be unnecessary or otherwise covered by other forums.
As for the format listings, the majority of our user base plays paper Magic. You'll need to explain the different options you want and why they're necessary.
