I love Goblin Test Pilot , in all it's randomness and how it can kill it self. So much fun in one card. The real question could you play him in standard and how? I tried with some Izzet control with Goblin Test Pilot as a wild card and even though i won a little i would alwas end sideboarding him out. how can we put him to use?

No creature ever printed needed haste more than this dude.

Or flash. For the love of god they printed something almost the exact same in an earlier set of the block that was so easily better because it had flash and haste. AND 0/3. WTF WOTC! Izzet Staticaster . If it had flash or haste it'd have a better chance of being used. Or even being a damn 0/3! They fucked up so hard with this card it's not even funny. It should've had haste and flash for the love of god. Then we play russian roulette. Lemma see your RNG!

Though I've never played the format, I could imagine this having a place in a (casual) chaos themed EDH deck..

even in EDH though, the damage is too small ;-; A fun EDH version of this card would look like this;

Super goblin test pilot (1R, 1U, 2 generic)0/5Flying, flash, hasteSuper goblin test pilot can't block[T] deal 5 damage to a creature or player, chosen randomly

Dragon's Maze was full of cards that already had better counterparts in the same block. That's part of the reason why there are almost no Standard-playable cards in the set.
