I can't remember the phone exacly (I go through a lot because I love android), but I ran cockatrice on my computer, using a micro usb cable to tether it to my computer.

The only problems I really had with it were lag, but it wasn't unplayable.

Wagic: The Homebrew recently came out with a smartphone app. You can't play online, but the AI is decent and you can play it on your phone or PSP.

They're still working out a lot of bugs (it's not optimized for all phones yet), but it's still a great app to have.
