I am fairly confident in saying that everyone on this website has some interest in magic. But on here we never really get to talk about other things besides Magic. So, somewhat like the oh so popular Introduce Yourself (Right On!) thread, i want to know what are your interests/hobbies outside of magic!
Personally, besides playing Magic i am a huge choir kid. In fact, right now i am in the middle of preparing for a musical that will be showing in two weeks! Alongside that i like to read a lot, a couple of my favorite books being The Harry Potter series and pretty much all of John Green's books. The Legend of Zelda is also pretty sweet, right now i am in the middle of playing through A Link Between Worlds. I think thats about it really...oh wait. Also Doctor Who, if you haven't yet figured that out :D
So what about you, what are some of your interests/hobbies outside of Magic?
Mainly magic for me, but I play a lot of videogames. RPGs are usually my main line, but I also enjoy Stealth, RTS, and whatever you would call Assassin's Creed. As an oddity, even though FPS's aren't normally my thing, really looking forward to Titanfall.
I also read a lot, but I haven't had as much time for TV and Movies as I would like.

I play LoL and Warframe. Other than that, I work a lot.

I work a lot (as a janitor) so I dont do much besides that and magic, but I do play guitar, smoke things, and wander through the woods when its not winter. I do not really watch tv or play video games, except my Gameboy advance SP, definitely play the shit out of that. but no xbox or playstation. Music is a big deal to me, always looking for new bands. Thats about it for hobbies i think..

Outside of Magic (So the other 35% of my life), I am huge into Music. I play drums for the church band, I am teaching myself guitar, and I am really big into a cappella. I also work in the tech booth for the church as one of two media consultants, and we basically make every graphic, run all the lights and sound, take and edit all the pictures / video, and run every presentation. I was in college for a short while, but fuck that, so i'm pretty much learning all of this for myself from experience. I'd like to get into making money via Magic, but the beast is hard to tame, and I keep finding myself with less money and more cards everyday. Probably should have just tried heroin in high school instead of this... it would have been cheaper.

you mean sold heroin, to pay for this, but that would do it just barely D:

My life can be summarized in basically 3 parts: Magic, Pokemon, and Real Life.
Breaking down real life, I run cross country and track and play soccer. I'm also a giant bookworm and music lover- I made a series of Magic decks around my latest band concert. I play trombone and my friends think it's really weird to see me without an earbud in one ear.

I have so many hobbies that some of my professors have criticized me for "doing too many things". I cycle through them since there are too many to keep up with consistently. Whenever this topic comes up in conversation, in profile updating / creation, or elsewhere, I struggle to remember all of the hobbies the first time.
I blame it on being single for most of my life and having no kids. Just imagine: no significant other and no kids - and summers off - and no TV.
I will stick to broader categories here: camping and the outdoors, pets, home-making, arts and crafts, foreign languages (and some travel), fine arts, games of all kinds, and (other) nerdy things.

Well, first off the most important thing is Starcraft 2. I play a lot and perfect skills.. I watch replays commented by Husky (best commentator ever!) and am in the Top 8 Silver league in both 2v2 and 1v1.
Also, I am a violinist as well. I have fun doing it. No one ever thought that would be one of my professions but it happens.
Everyone calls me a nerd for doing both these thing and agree with them :D.

Magic is actually second to Warhammer 40K to me, believe it or not. I regularly win Warhammer tournaments at my LGS and get boosters and/or singles with my winnings. Magic is a lot better when you don't have to pay for it!
I also play tons of video games. Mostly RTS's, RPG's, and Gran Turismo. I work in the IT department of a nationwide car care company so I kinda have to like cars, lol.
8vomit and UmbrotheUmbreon: It's good to see fellow guitar players on here! What kind of music do you guys play and what is your axe of choice? I play in a folk metal band with my ESP Eclipse and my army of Ibanez RGs.

I have way too many hobbies. I run a bunch of blogs. One is kind of popular and was even on Attack of the Show on G4 back in the day. I collect designer toys, vinyl records, comic books, play LOTS of video games, play guitar (I grew up in the punk/hardcore/metal scene), make comedic rap songs, and I'm really into film - I'm obsessed with how movies are made and all that jazz. I also do freelance video production for local businesses which is pretty cool. When I tell people I play Magic, there's a split second of surprise followed by "that sounds about right."
February 27, 2014 7:35 p.m.
Other then Magic I collect vintage My Little Ponies, play Xbox, and I am an avid equestrian.
My favorite Xbox games are Mass Effect and Halo.
February 27, 2014 7:44 p.m.
Magic is my main non-electronic hobby, with reading and building with Legos coming in close second.
I play a myriad of games from Starbound to Warframe to Binding of Isaac to Persona 4, etc. I'm actually participating in a LP for Starbound with one of my friends. His channel isn't that big yet, but who knows where it will go?
I like to write short stories, mainly because I can't write novels. I have great beginnings but it always peters out by the sixth chapter. All the works I've shared as far as short stories go have been received with good praise. I work best with original characters because I can mold their personality to exactly how the words flow. If I'm writing about an already established character, I find it hard to fit their personality without putting my own touches on it. Vernaculars and accents are also weak points for me because I like to write out accents phonetically so it hammers home the accent when people read it.
I used to play percussion in the school band but had to drop when I found out marching band just isn't for me. I was put on the bass drums first year and I couldn't process the demands fast enough at band camp. We had a week to memorize two full songs and the field positions for both, which doesn't seem like much unless you've actually tried it. When I play now I find music I like and find a piano arrangement for it. I adapt it for a mallet instrument and work through it until I feel I know it really well, then move to practicing it on the piano, which I recently picked up. I haven't had lessons for piano so my form could use a lot of work, but what I do now works for what I play. Most of what I play has been music from games such as Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Sunshine, Portal, and Pokemon Red and Blue.
I think that about sums up what I normally do from day to day.

You play Pokemon music acbooster? You're my new favorite person! :) Haha, my friend has actually managed to figure out how to play the Song of Storms on his tuba.
And dude, band camp... it's hard, especially for first timers. I'm a 4-year vet and I can't imagine marching around with a 20 pound drum on my chest, even without playing it!
February 27, 2014 7:52 p.m.
Yeah, I'm having trouble with Lavender Town because it requires me to move my hands in two different directions so I'm basically playing two pieces at once. I've nailed down the Elite Four theme, Pallet Town, and surprisingly the Trainer Battle theme. Which is at a speed of like 186. .-.
But yeah, I made it clear to the director that I wanted pit, and it was evident in the fact that out of the try-out pieces I only practiced the mallet piece. Though he stuck me on bass drum because I "have a good sense of rhythm". I was even lucky that they put me on the second smallest drum out of five, the largest I think weighed about 35 pounds.

So many hobbies it is hard to find the time:
- MTG of course
- Car tuning and racing (legal/track)
- Golfing
- Water Skiing
- Web development (my business and hobby)
- Tournament Archery (compound and recurve)
- Home Theater
- Video games generally not online
That's it right now but I am always into trying new things.
February 27, 2014 8:45 p.m.
I pretty much work, sleep, and play Magic. When I'm not at work I'm usually working on a deck for my articles on LegitMTG, or watching coverage for PureMTGO.
I will say every once in a while I'll go on a Skyrim binge, but my weekly responsibilities usually get in the way of that. lol

For me it's work and family.
I like to got to flea markets and find interesting trinkets and buy old toys. I listen to a ton of music. I like finding out about new bands. Watching movies. I used to play guitar and was in some bands in Texas, (death core bands) but magic took that void over when my last band broke up. I paint in my spare time, whether it's full on paintings or making alters on cards. Hanging out with my wife and kids. Pissing my cats off with random objects. Beers with friends. Fireworks. Metallica.
That sounds about how I sum up my spare time, if I have any.

Hmmm, aside from playing MTG again after a long "retirement", I guess I can list down my other hobbies/interests below:
Video Games - Avid Gamer here, casual competitive level. Mostly console games. I transitioned to MMORPGs but I settled down back to console after encountering bad experiences in playing MMO. I mostly play fighting games as well as 3rd person, FPS, and a bit of RTS. Currently playing Tekken 6 :)
Watching movies - a bit of a movie junkie, I guess. I watch mostly action, sci-fi, and comedy. I don't really watch romance movies, but when I do, rest assured that it's a really good one :P
Listening to music - my playlist is really mixed up (Love songs, Anime, J-Pop, Rock, etc.), but I mostly listen to Rock music. One of my favorites are Evanescence, Paramore, Nickelback, Fall Out Boy, and Hinder. Right now I'm into songs from Against the Current, particularly those sang by Chrissy Costanza :)
Eating - I don't need to explain this one hahaha. I love good food :)
Surfing the Internet
Hanging out at shopping malls with friends
Martial Arts - I guess I can list down this one despite being able to do martial arts back in high school only. I chose Tae Kwon Do back then since those were the Tekken days and Hwoarang or Baek were considered the bad-asses of Tae Kwon Do amongst the students :P

When I"m not busy with classwork, my other hobbies are swimming and playing Dota 2.
I'm also looking to start practicing coding and learning C#. Any good coders here that would be willing to help me out?

Where to begin.
Well first off I suppose Videogames need a mention - as I do game Design and am a pixelartist. Currently in the process of doing uni and working on our first project at the moment. As well as Nightfill work and of course Writing a book... well a trilogy of books.
Writing, obviously. I'm particularly fond of the Grim dark Genre both for penning and reading. In which case well count reading under this and say my favourite Author at the moment is Joe Abercrombie. I also write in what is called the Neo Duelist League, which is effectively a role play forum of writing battle scenes between characters.
Art is another hobby. This includes pixelart but also other forms of digital art and traditional drawing. I own a Cintiq and it is sexy.
Anime, I watch an awful lot of anime. Finally watching Clannad. Favourite anime is Trigun. :3
I also enjoy board games. I'm particularly good at Chess.

In all honesty, there is something other than magic? Pretty much outside of work that's it, besides watch anime and some tv after mtg or nights I stay in. That's only because I'm trying to be hyper competitive in magic. Otherwise, sports and music are a thing for me.
