Has anyone here used the app at all? I'm considering buying it and I was wondering what some opinions were on it.

Hey, if you're going for a great MTG app for Android, I recommend MTG Familiar. Offline Card search, Life/Poison counter, Mana Pool, Offline Rule Book, Card price comparison, wishlist and more. It's REALLY good. Screw MTG Tracker, why pay for that when Familiar is free?

So far it seems like it. an improvement over the life counter app I had before. I love the card database aspect of it.

Yep, it's pretty amazing. You can also set it so that a picture of the card comes up (with internet connection) instead of just the text. I find that pretty cool to have the choice lol

Is there an app available that displays card rulings without internet? 90% of the time when I'm looking up something away from home its the rulings I'm trying to access. I use an MP3 not an actual phone (droid os). So mtg familiar doesn't work for me.

@dwherr. Probably not. There's MTGDroid, though. They are sometimes behind on their database but it works offline. There are two apps called that. The one you want has the little android man surrounded by the 5 mana symbols as its icon.
MTG Familiar is what I use for all searchings and other types of info, but I like the Android App called Magic Life Counter for tracking life in duels. It's a bit simpler while still having awesome functionality on the life tracker itself.

I found one that does have the capability to display card rulings offline. Its called gatherer42. Its about two dollars. Brand new I believe. Its pretty nice.displays oracle text, card text in all editions, card rulings, triggers and whether or not they are optional.also displays what formats they are legal in(to An extent). Just missing pictures. It is only a reference database. No deck building or nothing like that. All of this offline too.

I still have the version that was free when it first came out. It won't update until I purchase the full version, but it's still a really good app. I'd recommend it.
