I have a friend who is good at making proxies. The group I play with doesn't allow proxies. Even though his proxies are too good to tell in normal play, I honor this rule.
However, sometime soon after the new set is released I am going to have him make me a proxy of a fake card.
I will buy a booster pack, open it with a razor blade very carefully, take the rare out of it and replace it with my fake rare. Then open it up in front of these friends and show everyone.
I'm not good with Magic lore, or flavor, and that is what I am asking for help with, that and getting the wording right.
So,
Name: Not sure yet, something like "Aether Realm Horror" or something.Casting Cost: 4 colorless, 3 green.Type: Epic Creature, Horror Power Toughness: 5/5Rule Text: Whenever Aether Realm Horror enters the battle field exile all other non-land permanents all players control. Any player may pay (3) per permanent to prevent this effect. You gain control of each permanent exiled in this way.Aether Realm Horror cannot be countered. Flavor Text: (No idea)
That's what I've got so far. The idea comes from my group constantly bitching that Magic keeps getting more and more powerful.
I want it to be right on the border of believable.
Any tips?

Just to keep it on the side of believable, it would be a "legendary creature" not epic. i would change the rule to (2) per permanent so at best theyll lose half their land and everything else, and then i would say "target player gains control of two permanents exiled this way" to leave room for some multiplayer shenanigans ;)
other than that i think its hilarious hahaha

thats cool, i would still make it look as playable as possible though.
on sort of another note, i always thought it would be cool to have a free for all with fake cards and stuff like that, so you could do that for fun, lol.

Instead of whenever, it should be "When Aether Realm Horror enters the battlefield, exile all permanents all players control. Any player may pay 2 to ignore this effect on one target permanent."

@backyardmetal: I use the "I Win" card. It is a zero casting cost instant, and if it isn't in my opening hand, I get to search my library for it. It cannot be countered or prevented in anyway! :D

I agree with NoSkillManiac on the wording and backyardmetal on making it look as legit as possible.
