I'm not sure if you've seen the new MATTE Dragon Shields, but wow, they're really nice. Ordered 300 of 'em, and they're not splitting. At all. It's awesome.

Do these mash shuffle as easily as the smooth ones? (I don't have casino skills.) I buy Shields for their durability and ability to smash two halves of the deck together to shuffle it :)

I've never had any trouble with sleeves not being uniform size, and I've owned.... a lot of them.

"and they're not splitting" in some remote corner of my mind, i thought you meant that after getting them, the sleeves wouldn't separate.

Really happy with the mattes that I picked up in terms of feel and quality, but I gotta say the red is real garish looking.

I asked TCC on Twitter when he's reviewing these, and he said Saturday for those of you not sold just by hearing "MATTE Dragon Shields"

ThatJunkMage i must have bought a bad batch of 1100 then. i'm not that bothered over it, but i've always heard that dragon shield length varies box to box. do you actually have a legit update that things have changed, or are you just going with anecdotal evidence?

With my purchase of a case of them, I am yet to find any that aren't noticeably uniform. I've made it about 2/3 through the case of boxes for various decks, and I am free to switch any card between any deck without it being too big or small or whatever. If this problem exists, I must have just never seen it.

The box of Red Dragon Shield Mattes I have, I ran into 10 or so sleeves that are too tight to double sleeve.
Also, the backs catch on playmats, to the amusement of my FN< opponents last night

Huh, actually just took mine to FNM last night and didn't experience the playmat issue. Earlier in the day I double-sleeved, which was fine, but then my deck was gigantic so I un double-sleeved :P

They certainly look interesting. I'll await the day they come out with purple before I approach the idea.
