The amount of Mana in a Draft deck

i need help with a amount of mana you should run in a 40 card draft deck. I'm just practicing for the M13 draft i'm going to friday :)

16-17 land is standard in a 40-card limited deck. 16 is more appropriate for a fast, low curve deck. 17 is about right for a deck with an average curve.

When in doubt on land counts, just compare your numbers to the 24 land average in a constructed deck. Using the same ratios, 16-17 is about right.

Remember that average land counts are always just a suggestion. You can raise/lower your counts as needed if you have mana acceleration or if your mana curve is somehow unique. (you can usually count mana dorks as 1/2 of a land).

I usually got 16-17 mana for 2 colored decks, and if you go 3 colors 18 lands is definitely proved better, assuming you don't get any evolving wilds. Also depends on the mana curve of your deck, high CMC cards= more lands needed for consistency. organize the amount of each land on the amount of cards that have 2of a color in their cost (Ex: I made a R/W/B deck and I have a lot of Xww cost cards, so i should make sure to have a little more plains than any of the other colors, because i need two plains out for these cards).
