I'm looking to build a reasonably competitive modern deck to take to my local card shops weekly modern but I need some examples of decks that are considered competitive. if you all could share some deck links to decks you consider reasonably competitive that would be great. thanks

I would highly suggest reading through ChiefBell's primer.

Feel free to have a look at my page as well as I'm pretty exclusively into Modern. I have a competitive RUW Splinter Twin Deck TOO MANY COOKS, and a competitive homebrew THE SOURCE WALL (Updated for DTK) that might be worth a look. Depending on what you're looking to get out of Modern it might be helpful to understand a classic and dominant archetype of the format as well as something custom built from scratch.

In order to understand the meta as a whole, I definitely recommend Chiefbell's primer as the best thing you can use to understand the staples of the format and get an idea of what the competitive decks are that are out there.

I agree with ChiefBell's format primer. While browsing MTGTop8 and SCG can be a good way to get an idea of t1 decks, his primer explains these decks in detail as well as ways to beat them.

I want to make it clear that I had a lot of help on that primer. It's not really 'mine'.
