Heads Up About SCG...

So, over the years I have done thousands of dollars of business with SCG and never had an issue. Well I recently sent in a buylist and it arrived on Thursday of last week. I did everything I was supposed to as I have done countless times before. I put the cards in the correct order, I packaged them safely, I paid for expensive shipping and insurance and I got the cards there 2 days after my approval.

SCG guarantees that your buylist will be processed in 2-4 business days. Everything was going as it usually does and they had all of my buylist graded and ready to go. I contacted them on Tuesday because I had still not received my payment and they said they were backed up and they would get to it as soon as possible. I thought well okay they've done great business in the past so this is fine.

Then today they contacted me again after regrading my buylist and I lost another $31 due to price changes in cards. I explained to them that I was patient after doing everything like i was supposed to and even after they couldnt back up their guaranteed time frame to process my request.

I shouldn't have lost that extra $31 because they were "backed up" and especially after they had already graded my buylist several days ago. I feel I have been cheated, so in fairness to my fellow magic players, I've decided to put this out there as a BUYER BEWARE type of thing. DO BUSINESS AT YOUR OWN RISK WITH SCG.

P.S. Still haven't gotten my money

I’m sorry that happened, that sounds ridiculous. I always sell to Card Kingdom and have never had any issues with them changing prices (it stays the same as when you sell).

I recommend calling and trying to complain to a manager to get your money back. It sounds like you’ve already had to call a few times, but it may be worth some of your time to try to get the money back.

I've contacted them again. The only thing they are willing to give me is a free month of SCG Premium. I'll finish using my credit and my business will be concluded with them. Hate to see it end like this and I hope others have better experiences

That’s too bad. Their loss for poor policies and customer service!

Dont do business w them. Scg would like to believe they have the secondary market cornered, but we have tons of other options nowadays. They dont pay great prices and then they make a killing off your cards. Id suggest opening a storefront on tcgplayer before selling to Scg.
