FNM Number 1 —Feb. 17, 2012

First Ever FNM with this deck!

The FNM went well, with my four matches being 0-1 (Against Spirit Delver, went to time second game after a war of attrition that I lost first game after drawing land for about 7 turns in a row) 2-0 (against DelverBlade, pretty easy match, edict effects took down geist very easily and tragic slips took down delvers, game 2 side out 2 dismember side in 2 gut shot) 2-0 (against Jund Wolf Run, this matchup seems to be the most favourable for this deck, as it does not usually have multiple creatures out, so the removal is amazing, game 2 side out 4 doom blade, side in 2 despise 1 ghost quarter and a gut shot) Final match 2-0 (vs Tempered steel, game 1 was very tricky the large amount of creatures made a lot of spot removal a little weak, especially dismember, eventually a top deck o-ring for his tempered allowed me to stay alive for 1 more turn for my mass of zombies to overwhelm him, side out 2 dismember and 2 geths verdict, side in 2 divine offering, 1 gutshot 1 sword of war and peace. Game 2 was a lot stronger after boarding, drawing gutshot early allowed me to take down his signal pest, leaving him with only a vault skirge, which was killed pretty quickly after, a thrun with a sword on swung in for the win.)

Changes to the deck due to FNM

-2 Solemn, I was never really happy to see these guys, they just aren't efficient enough for the deck

-1 Forest, I was drawing far too much land and I need double black early, so this seemed like a sound choice

+2 Sword of War and Peace, These things are amazing against so many matchup's, stick on on a thrun and you have a scary prospect.

+1 batterskull, the lifegain is very important in the current meta, especially that of my local shop, where infect doesn't really have a presence

Sideboard

-1 sword of war and peace, moved to mainboard

+1 corrosive gale, only thing it hits in the deck is BoP's where as it tears apart spirit tokens

All in all the deck went fantastic, I think that I will be playing it for a long time.
