Round 5 —Aug. 28, 2013
Jolly good showing. 2-1 win over RZ. We were down after game 1, but our deck had a good come back and we won the next 2. Had to Clear a Path our own cyclops to do it, but it happened. 3-2 now!!

I stayed the hell away from the stream (went to FNM and went 3-0-1, tied for 1st) so I'll say you all are welcome. I kept my bad MTGO MOJO out of it.
Also, nice work Darkness.

Great job Darkness!
I too still need to see the stream, but feeling pretty happy about this win.

That was kind of sad to watch, but also satisfying. Working as intended . . .

Say, just reviewing the first game we had multiple cyclops, one with the hidden strings cipher. At that point, isn't the most efficient use of weapon surge is on the cipher guy (rather than overload) so that his first strike hit will activate the cipher before the other cyclops do their damage? The difference should be +7 vs +3, in the case of 3 cyclops.
It was sure nice to see the game go as we had hoped all along.
BTW, thanks for posting it Darkness!

@Agog- He was looking at lethal damage either way. But if I had cast Weapon Surge on the ciphered cyclops, he would've surely blocked, and we wouldn't have won. I wanted to give the illusion that we weren't swinging in for lethal so that he wouldn't block. And if we're arguing about whether to overload or not, we could have done the non-overloaded way for a larger victory, but at that point I was just so excited that our deck worked without a hitch that I wasn't thinking too much about a brutal overkill. We were dealing lethal anyways with that attack and I was stoked for the win.

Great points Darkness
Yeah, I was surprised he didn't block - nicely played. I couldn't remember whether we had used weapon surge as the initial cyclops activator.

1 hour away! We saw the result we wanted to see with RZ and Gurei's match. They're both at 2-2. This is ideal for us, as if we can get a win tonight, we have a place in this competition. I don't know how landot and Deckbuilder's game went, but either way, one team is now 3-1. Hopefully landot won, so we have a chance to face him later in the competition and deprive him of another win, while netting ourselves one more to the good. No one team is having a clear advantage at this point, so it'd be foolish to lose faith, now. We do need a win today though. Tune in to my stream to help steer the Brotherhood in the right direction!
Tl;dr- It's gonna be messy, but we're not nearly out of this yet. Let's do this thing. Have faith in the cyclopes.
