Creatures, Removal, Recursion —April 9, 2020
It's becoming more important to remove creatures and other threats and to have a board prescence. There are a few cards I'm swapping out:
Sphere of Safety for Doomwake Giant 5cmc for 5cmc. Sphere has been only marginally effective. When its good its great and when its not its a waste. Doomwake Giant has the benefit of being a big body for 5 mana while also at the very least eliminating most tokens and mana dorks when he enters.
Kaervek the Merciless for Underworld Breach The. Moment. Kaervek is played I become a massive target. My playgroup HATES him with passion. He isnt a big enough body to block and honestly, I've found him lackluster. I'm swapping him out for Underworld Breach. I mostly want to test this card and see how it works in the deck.
Sign in Blood for Mortify
Instant speed removal has become more important as our meta changes; especially so for both creatures and enchantments. I love Sign in Blood but I still have Read the Bones. For one mana more the Scry 2 reaaally helps!
Soul's Attendant for Terminate
I reaaally like have Soul Warden, Suture Priest, and Soul's Attendant. But I reeaaallly need more removal. My opponents play LOTS of creatures, so I'm keeping one sister to gain me life and the priest to punish them.
