Guilds of Ravnica —Oct. 10, 2018
I'm going to be experimenting with some of the new Guilds of Ravnica Cards.
[Lazav, the Multifarious] has some interesting uses in our deck that might make him better than a body double. He puts a card in yard and can give us activations of cards like fauna [Fauna Shaman], and [Havengul Lich]. I don't know if the deck has enough spare mana most turn to make him super useful but we'll see how the guildmaster holds up.
[Mnemonic Betrayal] is a crazy ace of spades kind of card. Most of the time it's going to get milled and that's the last we'll see of it, but in a game of commander your opponents are very likely to have at least a few things you can steal in the late game that make this worth trying. I'm imagining a turn where we Swords to Plowshares a troublesome creature, steal a mana rock and maybe even a problem enchantment like Ghostly Prison. For 3 mana, even at sorcery speed this is a powerful ability I'm excited to play around.
[Impervious Greatwurm] is just, you know, a big ol' fatty with indestructible and 16 counters we can put on a Mimeo target.
[Izoni, Thousand-Eyed] is a legit card for our deck. It might be so good we can take out Spider Spawning, who knows. I have no doubt that it's going to make the final cut.
