I took my new build of Halfdane for a spin. I did not draw any of my "hidden commanders" in the first game, but I did manage to draw into the Rest in Peace + Helm of Obedience combo on T11. With some flicker shenanigans, I was able to finish the game on T12. That's pretty slow, but it's tough to get a sense of how an interactive deck like this will really work. Halfdane was a 3/3 for the entire game, and I left a Mind's Dilation uncast in my hand, despite being able to play it on T6. Ramp seemed better than it was in Etali and Chainer.

My second try wrapped up on T8, as I got Aminatou out and then duplicated her with Spark Double on T7. I lucked into an Altar of the Brood on the next turn, so I was able to win by infinitely flickering Aminatou and her clone, milling all opponents. Yeah!

My final test was closer to the pace of the first one. This time, Brago was the featured "hidden commander," enabling repeated flicker effects. On T11, I drew a Magister Sphinx and had already stolen the best permanent from each opponent (which I unfortunately represent with a meager 3/3 Halfdane), so I could easily take out each opponent one at a time by knocking them down to 10 life with the sphinx, attacking with everything, and then repeating.

There are some kinks. In the first game, I certainly did not want Eerie Interlude at all. In the third game, I swapped away Puca's Mischief only to draw a way to snatch a creature back on my next turn, making me wish I'd waited till I had an extra creature to trade away. Due to the lack of creature ETB abilities, cards that flicker creatures feel underwhelming...until I draw a game-ender like Magister Sphinx. Card draw and mana were not issues at all in any of these tests.
