At 3 mana, Unstable Obelisk was pretty unimpressive as a mana rock and would often get swept up as collateral damage from board wipes before I got a chance to use it. Karn Liberated is slotting in as a replacement to help out with black's weakness to artifacts and enchantments. I don't think I'll miss the minor acceleration Obelisk provided and if I can protect Karn, he'll do a lot more damage in the long run.
Another card to help out with black's weakness to non creatures is Nevinyrral's Disk. I had considered All is Dust, but it still doesn't deal with artifacts like Disk does. Disk can also leave a flipped Liliana in tact. To fit in Disk I cut Black Sun's Zenith since that tended to be the most mana intensive sweeper in the deck. Sometimes the flexibility of Zenith was nice to leave my own creatures alive, but that was mostly a corner case scenario. Disk still deals with most creatures, but also knocks out problematic artifacts and enchantments I would otherwise have a tough time dealing with. It is possible Zenith will make it back in to the deck, but it will be competing for Mutilate's spot now.
