Hi :)

We tried 2 games, one at 5 players and the second at 4. And no more than 4 quests was resolve, and only 1 for 2 players per game. It's really easier to kill people normally than achieve the points needed for the quest win condition.Maybe 15 is a little too much ? Or are we the only to struggle getting them ?

When we try again I'll tell more about how it was.

Hey, thanks for testing. Can you tell me what your playgroups meta looks like and if your decks are leaning more towards color archetypes? With what quests did you struggle?

The 15 points are only optional win condition since quests are only supplemental. As stated in the rules you can increase starting lifes if you seek to lay more focus on the quests. Remember you get points by quest difficulty - completing Mythic gives 4, Rare 3, Uncommon 2 and Common 1 point per quest.

I will finetune the quests next weekend and maybe overhaul the rulings a bit.

In our last testgames we had 5 players and between 6 and 9 completed quests per match and we only played with out of the box preconstructed commander decks.

We are sometimes 12 to play Commander, so almost everything is played in my playgroup.

For the quests, I don't remember exactly, but Bloodletting, Boros Legion, Survival of the Fittest (because every creatures died before the third counter) stayed all the game, and Around Titans and The Beast Within were completing at the end of the game (but those helped to finish).

I can't find in the rule where it says that you can increase starting lifes ?

We don't play with preconstructed decks, but not with competitives ones either, more like good-but-fun ones.

This may be a dumb ask but is there a way to download a file containing only the changes between version 1.0 and v1.2? I've printed and pasted v1.0 and have the v1.1 change file that you provided downloaded. But with v1.2 I would really like to avoid having to print, cut and paste all of the unaltered quests again if possible.

I don't want it to sound like a lazy ask but it would be super helpful if I could get 2-3 pages just containing the changes between v1.0 and v1.2 if at all possible.

wargunner Crap, I see your point so no dumb question - but V1.2 had wording changes on 80% of the quests (Mostly correcting quotation marks from german " to englisch ""). That's why I didn't provide a new "Update" Pack this time with just the changes. Sorry mate! But I can guarantee that V1.2 is the final version for the starter edition since work on the expansion has already begun.

I am uploading all quests one by one in high quality so people can upload them to online print plattforms that specialise on custom card games. Here is the Link to the Dropbox Folder.

Just double-checking; should the rare encounter quests be reward quests? And if they are reward quests, does that mean only you interact with them?Otherwise though, love the idea. Having shared enemies to deal with will be interesting :D

@AstrisJanus Jup, encounter and occurence affect all players! - check the new rules for D&D quests :)

Just curious, why not make the quests transform cards with the rewards on the back of the cards? It would be better for flavor of the quests I feel like.

really great idea, i think this could certainly be expanded on, maybe even a sort of rule that says 3 quests must be completed before a player can attack another player on board, to encourage players to try to gain an advantage through the quests before taking on their opponents? i think this would help make each game run differently regardless of people playing their same deck each time as the quests would have a large impact on who has the upper hand to begin the player vs player combat.

Hey thanks for the comments!

DrkNinja Quests are meant to be placed face down in a pile and drawn. I am not a big fan of Double-faced cards alltough I get your point - Would make more room for flavor and such but the downsides outweigh this point unfortunately.

tazleon7 Well I don't want to strictly force people to do quests. This would be unfun and kinda unfair for people whose decks are not that good at handling quests. With the new quest types in the D&D expansion there will be a lot more engagement in quests since people are directly affected by game-altering conditions and have to form pacts to deal with environmental threats (I highly value good politics in commander.)

If you have any suggestions how to make quests more engaging let me know! :) But I don't think that forcing it would be the right way. Best case would be to have quests that are flavorful, fun, immersive and set up the perfect conditions for a cool playgroup story!

yeah i hear you, and after looking more at the way the quests work i think it is good to leave quests as an option

can you upload the conspiracy roles as individual cards as you did with the starter so that we can also get them printed from a company/professionally?

November 29, 2017 10:20 p.m.

tonyjj1990 will be up tomorrow!

Awesome thank you I'm loving the quests game. O and while looking at the encounters ferocious hydra has a typo i think Toughness auto corrected itself to thoughness?

November 30, 2017 8 a.m.

tonyjj1990 Just a typo. :)

There will be a layout update this weekend and I'll finalize all 125 quests and 13 roles.

Did the layout for the original starter quests change? Like should i go ahead and get them printed or wait till after this weekend?

November 30, 2017 11:29 a.m.

tonyjj1990 Yeah - these are mostly just visual changes but at best wait til Monday. I will get them asap out.

Hi, quick logistics request.

When you post the updated images tomorrow, could you let us know exactly which ones were changed? I have all of the cards ready to print on gamecrafter and it would same me a ton of time if I could just reupload the fixed ones instead of having to either go through all of them and see what's changed, or (heaven forbid) restart the whole process all over again.

Love the project, great work!

December 3, 2017 4:02 p.m.

@Voxzorz Sry mate but I overhauled all 125 quests and 13 roles. :(

Most just minor visual changes, but I'd recommend to go with the newest version, since the formatting is way better now!The new single-versions are already up on Dropbox if you want to start uploading on gc. The Printsheets will be up in 3-4 hours!

Glad you like it tho.

This is going to be my new pet project for next year. This looks like just the sort of thing to spice up my playgroups meetings. Keep up the good work mate, if I think of anything I'll shoot you a message.

December 4, 2017 4:43 p.m.

@Spyrechild Thanks! I am eager to hear what your playgroup thinks about it! :)
