Decks that run on the upkeep. These would be decks that do most the setup before the draw step with instants and activated abilities. My latest deck using Myra the Magnificent works this way. After the draw step you roll to visit your attractions, giving you no time to play them in your main phase to bring any more out you can possibly hit that turn. This way you bring out more attractions during your upkeep and can use Myra’s activated ability at least once to exile one of them under an attraction. With an untap instant, you could even do it twice.

Yeah that would be cool, seems like a new space to play in. Something that gets benefit by playing spells before your draw step or main phase. I just made this as there was not a hub for upkeep to select when describing my deck so thought I would write about it.

There's probably not an upkeep hub because there aren't too many upkeep-centric decks.

Search for decks that run Paradox Haze, they're guaranteed to care about the upkeep ;)

I think the reason that upkeep-centric decks are so sparse, and why that design-space is soo limited, is due to such cards almost entirely removing player agency.

Any upkeep effects are effectively on “autopilot”, where the player either has no choices to make with the trigger, or has to make an uninformed decision based off limited information (as they haven’t drawn a card yet). This is a big reason they designed Sagas to activate in the main phase.

Saying this there’re still numerous cards that trigger on-upkeep - just that there’s often very little support for making the upkeep-triggers relevant.
