I wanted to make a deck around Captain Rex Nebula loosely themed around Futurama, since he reminded me so much of Zapp Brannigan. I tried to find a good partner to pair him with in W/R that would match with Kif, unfortunately there weren't any viable options. Instead, I opted to use Croakid Amphibonaut as the partner because spacefrog and have a rule 0 discussion before using this deck. I tailored the deck to not rely on any blue cards, so that Croakid Amphibonaut can be easily replaced with Brazen Dwarf if there were any objections to it. I also wanted to stick with cards under $2 that I didn't already own, as well as avoiding using any shock and fetch lands.

I tried to approximate the main Planet Express crew as well as I could.

For Leela I obviously had to make a cyclops, so I chose Cyclops of Eternal Fury because Rex can target it for a chunky crash, it gives creatures haste, and most importantly features plenty of purple in its art.

For Fry I chose Wyll, Blade of Frontiers. Ignoring one of the dice rolls felt like it fit Fry's aloof nature, even if that is a bit of a stretch. Wyll is also close enough to Phil that I thought that would fit nicely.

Finally, for Bender I chose Alibou, Ancient Witness. I had debated on representing him with Solemn Simulacrum or Karn, Scion of Urza, but again I didn't want him to be a card I simply wanted to sacrifice nor did I want to add any cards over $2 that I didn't already own. Alibou being an ancient golem fit in my head with all the time travel shenanigans that Bender has pulled off.

"When I'm in command every mission is a suicide mission"

Just as Zapp's plan against the kill-bots, this deck's plan is to just throw your troops at the enemy until they die. The deck will include suites to increase our damage, recur some of our creatures and vehicles, and ways to remove any blockers that dare stand in our way.

"The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised"

We have ways of bringing back various cards that we have yeeted into our opponent's faces. Sun Titan and Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle will help bring back our cheaper troops, while Buried Ruin, Ironsoul Enforcer, and Myr Retriever.

Pia's Revolution will help hit our opponents in the face even mode early to mid game, while gaining our vehicles and other artifacts back once losing 3 becomes too much of a risk for our opponents.

"Brannigan's Law is like Brannigan's love, hard and fast!"

We want to hit them hard and we want to hit them fast. Gratuitous Violence and Dictate of the Twin Gods will double our damage to our opponent's faces and creatures. Flameshadow Conjuring will help by doubling our creatures when they enter the battlefield. Speedway Fanatic and Cyclops of Eternal Fury help us attack faster by giving our creatures and/or vehicles haste.
