Minor Spoilers for Baldur's Gate 3 midgame ahead in the description and card alters!

This list is a Umori, the Collector companion, creature-only decklist focused on abusing myrkuls enchantification to gain massive value from strong ETB and static effects.

I am always looking for advice on this deck, if is even playable as is, and what aspects can be improved.

You dare end one who belongs to me?

I am the smile of the worm-cleansed skull.

I am the regret of those who remain and the restlessness of those who are gone.

I am the haunt of mausoleums, the god of graves and age, of dust and dusk.

I am Myrkul, Lord of Bones, and you have slain my Chosen.

But it is no matter, for I am Death.

I am not the End - I am a Beginning.

-- Myrkul, Lord of Bones

Myrkul does not just gift his powers to anyone. Only his most devout followers may ascend to his realm in their afterlife. If you want to be a good Myrkul worshipper, these disciples can help you find the path:

Devoted Druid is a absolutely insane card in this deck. If you have Myrkul on the field and are able to cast the druid, you immediately gain infinite green mana, since druid can untap itself until it dies. Once it has been enchantment-ified, it can still use its untap ability with no downside!

Eidolon of Blossoms and other constellation creatures give great value as they not only syngergize with Myrkul, but are still able to be revived by his ability for added protection.

Sanctum Weaver is likely the best mana generator apart from Devoted Druid that this deck could wish for. For Ramp in general, mana dorks like Birds of Paradise are crazy strong since you can double them once in a pinch by using them, saccing them and then using their enchantment version again since it has no summoning sickness.

Bramble Sovereign is a powerhouse, essentially acting as a second secret commander, as he frontloads myrkul's ability, and even works as a bit of a grouphug piece if wanted.

Fiend Artisan is a tutor on a stick and a sac outlet in one. It not only allows us to convert creatures into enchantments with myrkul, but at the same time already searches for the next creature to gain value. This can be used to assemble the decks combos by finding Devoted Druid, or as removal by finding shreikmaw, and many other uses.

Cards to likely remove (more testing required tho):

  • Avenger of Zendikar: Avenger is a cool top end card but doesnt really syngerize with the decks gameplan well. The only syngergy is saccing him to get him again which is nice, but not amazing for the mana cost since there is no landfall theme in the deck other than avenger.

  • Cloakwood Swarmkeeper: Unlikely to be removed, since its a cool one-drop, but the fact that enchantments dont really exist until myrkul is active makes this way too slow. Even when it can accrue some +1/+1 counters early, its just not relevant since it doesnt have evasion.

  • Kambal, Consul of Allocation: Kambal's tax effect is pretty cool and it also works with the deck flavor wise for only punishing non creature spells. But other than flavor, this effect is not really syngeristic with the deck. It even has kind of an antisyngergy with myrkul because gaining life gets us farther away from myrkul being indestructible.

  • Opposition Agent: definitely a strong card and unlikely to be removed, but agent is a big salt card and does not really afford for fun play patterns in my usual pod, therefore it might go to make space for something more fun and proactive.

  • Thalia, Guardian of Thraben: Unlikely to be removed, since the Stax effect works very well to help us get to myrkul mana without being overrun. Thalia is a good card in the deck, but since she doesnt actively syngergize with anything, she can be removed to make space if needed.

  • Tormod, the Desecrator: Is just a worse version of Archon of Sun's Grace since the tokens are worse and come tapped, but tormod might stay in anyways just to have a backup to archon if needed.

Cool cards in the sideboard that may swap into the main list at some point, and their functions in the deck:

As a god sharing his Domain with both Bane, Lord of Darkness and Bhaal, Lord of Murder, Myrkul must always look to expand his influence, iterating on his creations and worshippers to build a better church.

The main subtheme that is currently missing is that of blink and bounce to return stuff to hand in a pinch, or just to gain some extra value from ETB's.

Other than that, the inclusion of Fiend Artisan enables the deck to be extremely interactive if wanted. By adding the right interaction-on-a-stick cards to the deck, artisan can pop them out of the deck during your turns.

Example: you can activate Fiend Artisan to sacrifice a Elvish Mystic and find your Ravenous Chupacabra straight from the library to get rid of a pesky creature, or a Foundation Breaker to kill that Rhystic Study thats been annyoing the whole table.

You can also find your Ondu Spiritdancer or Devoted Druid easily, enabling you to combo off without even having the pieces beforehand.

Or what about finding a Destiny Spinner just before you pop off, ensuring your casts cant get countered by the guy holding up and smiling sadistically.

If you want to do your playgroup a divine favour and play without combo, you can make the following card swaps:

Make sure to swap in at least one finisher card such as a aristrocrats pinger or Token creator, since you wont be able to rely on your infinite mana, inifinite tokens and invulnerability to win.
