Child of Alara Deck- with 17 non-land cards 4 creatures, 4 enchantment, 3 planeswalker, 4 sorceries and 2 instant. There are 6 double-faced land cards. One transforming land card. There are 82 total land cards.

Goal

To use our commander Child of Alara to control the board. Then use our colossus creatures, land creatures and tokens (Field of the Dead with Retreat to Kazandu to win the game. No Maze's End. No Urza lands.

The 17 non-land cards and one transforming land card

  1. Crop Rotation- this card gets us a land we want for a single mana and let's us sacrifice a modal land.
  2. Sylvan Scrying- this card gets us a land we want for two mana.
  3. Summoner's Pact- this card gets us Cultivator Colossus or Esika, God of the Tree  .
  4. The Prismatic Bridge  - this double-faced* card is played for the enchantment that lets us get our colossus' or planeswalkers. We can ramp/get mana colors we need with Esika, God of the Tree  , then sacrifice or destroy her and bring her back with Bala Ged Recovery  or Takenuma, Abandoned Mire and then cast the enchantment.
  5. Blightsteel Colossus- Infect damage ends game in three turns. It shuffles into our deck when it dies. No worry if there is life gain.
  6. Cultivator Colossus- can end the game in one attack and gets us a ton of lands, our opponent may get pissed!
  7. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon- controls the board, will eventually get us card draw, life gain and more lands on the battlefield, and does direct damage!
  8. Vraska, Golgari Queen- this card let's us sacrifice a land to gain one life and draw a card, destroy a nonland permanent and then the emblem is sick!
  9. All is Dust- if for some reason Child of Alara can't be cast.
  10. Bonds of Mortality- if opponent has indestructible or hexproof creatures.
  11. Hadana's Climb  - this card let's us put counters on our commander and then transforms into Winged Temple of Orazca   that gives a creature flying and doubles its power and toughness, Crawling Barrens flips this card on the turn it comes into play with enough mana. Haha!
  12. Abundance- this card gets us a spell any time we draw and we can choose land too!!
  13. Scapeshift- Game over when we play this card. Gets the lands we need.
  14. Titania's Command- This card can pump up our commander as well as give us blockers for our planeswalkers, get us lands (any) and/or life gain. We get to pick two!!!
  15. Exploration- it's a pretty straight forward card.
  16. Retreat to Kazandu pump tokens with Cultivator Colossus or gains life.
  17. Tatyova, Benthic Druid gives us life, card draw and a second commander to mix things up.
  18. Wrenn and Seven ramps, makes a treefolk creature with power and toughness equal to lands you control and returns all permanents from your graveyard to your hand.

Don't forget to use our commander Child of Alara with land abilities to do 21 points of commander damage in 2 to 3 turns. There are three strong win-conditions for this deck: Infect damage, commander damage and normal damage using Cultivator Colossus, land creatures, tokens and direct damage.

If our opponent wants to exile our creatures, use our lands High Market, Phyrexian Tower, Hostile Hostel  , Grim Backwoods and Great Hall of Starnheim to sacrifice our creature and especially our commander. Blightsteel Colossus shuffles back into our deck.

BEST COMBOS: 1. Cultivator Colossus + Kazuul's Fury   2. Blightsteel Colossus + Littjara Mirrorlake or Mirrorpool 3. All is Dust or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon + Sanctum of Ugin to fetch Blightsteel Colossus 4. Vraska, Golgari Queen + Kher Keep, Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree or Field of the Dead 5. Cultivator Colossus + Field of the Dead + Thespian's Stage 6. Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage 7. Crawling Barrens + Hadana's Climb   8. Abundance + Cultivator Colossus gets us a hand full of spells! Don't forget if you need a land "choose land". It's messed up because if you choose land then you clean your whole deck of lands.

BEST Double-Faced card: Bala Ged Recovery  & Bala Ged Sanctuary   gets us any card from our graveyard. Combo: Cultivator Colossus+ Malakir Rebirth  + Kazuul's Fury  + Bala Ged Recovery   return to hand Kazuul's Fury  .

FYI note: When we search our library for land cards Sylvan Scrying/Titania's Command we cannot choose double-faced cards because the land is on the back-side and doesn't exist in zones outside of the battlefield. This also means if our opponent casts a spell like Duress, it can target our double-faced cards. Also crack our panorama lands (and the like) after a board wipe. Then Field of the Dead with Retreat to Kazandu make a token army immediately after the wipe, it's super cool.
