This is a control deck built around Titans' Nest as the engine of choice with a domain subtheme, with Worst Fears and Shark Typhoon as wincons. Although the concept of the deck is pretty spicy, I am still trying to tune the deck to be as competitive as possible.
Shadow Prophecy is a great card here that is both an enabler for Nest (digging for the card and filling the graveyard) and is also a great payoff card since we can cast it for later. It is also instant speed, so we can hold it up along with Divide by Zero.
Leyline Binding is a very strong piece of removal, since we are already running a domain theme.
Nylea's Presence helps with mana fixing and domain, and we don't run 2 mana counterspells (looking into some though), so there isn't very much tension there.
Extinction Event is generally black's premier sweeper in pioneer. Although Supreme Verdict is stronger, it requires WW which our deck can't support and can also be cast for one mana off Titans' Nest.
Shark Typhoon is just a great card all around in control lists, but it is perfect here for a few more reasons. For one thing, it only has one pip so we can cast it for one mana with Nest. Because of this, we actually hardcast Typhoons very often as our main win condition. And lastly, it gives us a 6/6 shark off a Leyline Binding which is very nice.
Worst Fears is our big splashy payoff card. If we are resolving this, we should theoretically be able to win the game, usually in conjunction with a Shark Typhoon. In the sideboard, we have Thought Distortion against slower control decks. Since Time Stretch isn't legal, some other possible payoff cards I am looking into are Lochmere Serpent, Agent of Treachery, and Hullbreaker Horror. Unfortunately, Torrential Gearhulk cannot cast Worst Fears since it isn't an instant.
I am currently playtesting this deck, and still have a lot of flex slots to iron out in both the maindeck and sideboard. Any and all thoughts/suggestions are more than welcome.
