Desecrate

Sorcery

Destroy all enchantments. They can't be regenerated.

Erebos, for the first time in eons, set down his whip. The coils land seamlessly across all of Theros. And with a gentle wave of his palm, from horizon to horizon, the world fell in silence.

Black is supposed to be getting enchantment removal, so I went for broke.

Would be a lovely idea for Theros 3. With Heliod out of the picture, the Underworld breached and individual fate in chaos, I could see Erebos taking the opportunity to create mass genocide, purely for the power-move.

Was more black enchantment removal already confirmed to be coming?

Further dilluting the color pie makes me sad, but it is what it is.

There are five mono-black cards that ask to destroy enchantments specifically.

An additional 14 with mixed colors.

And 46 listed for a generic "permanent", though not all are applicable here.

Outside of Feed the Swarm, the only card that can do it for non-creature enchantments in black is Quagmire Druid, but it needs green to do it.

I guess after everything blue and green have gotten, it was going to spill over sooner or later, but it makes me sad to see so much bleeding of identity between colors.

TypicalTimmy Out of the mono black search you posted, one of those cards has green in its colour identity, and three of them only destroy creatures.

With Baleful Beholder, Mire in Misery and Pharika's Libation, edicts are the way to go.

"Each player sacrifices all enchantments they control."

That feels a lot more black. Fixed it.

Doesn't work as well with Erebos anymore though '^^
