Catastrophe

Sorcery

Destroy all lands or all creatures. Creatures destroyed this way can't be regenerated.

  1. I run Land Tax/Scroll Rack in EVERYTHING. My thinking for this list was deck thinning and a guaranteed land drop a turn would better help a permanent based strategy in the end. Time will tell.

  2. Definitely struggling. Definitely worth considering.

  3. MLD is deliciously evil. I use that in my version. Catastrophe was cut for Farewell.

If you run red/white:

Humility turns off a ton of decks. Add something like Elspeth, Sun's Champion for value.

Cards like Armageddon, Jokulhaups, and Catastrophe are always fun.

Though, these cards need a more dedicated build and new Urza probably isn't the most synergistic.

This deck generates mana quick and with ease. Stunted Growth and Plow Under early game can finish an opponent before they even start.

Catastrophe is Armageddon #2

Capsize do it.

I love the modal aspect of Catastrophe - it might be a neat way to support your stax engines here too!

Hey XinZhao, lately I have been too busy with work to play, so I can’t tell you whether I would rather keep Deadly Rollick or swap it for Deflecting Swat . I appreciate your input, I will consider that the next time I play and I’ll let you know!

Regarding Ravages of War , yes it is pricey, I just happen to come across one many years ago. As an alternative I would definitely suggest Impending Doom . I used to run it in a previous version of this build and I considered making room for it in this current version. The pros are that it is only 2 mana, and in a multiplayer game it can be triggered very early on. The cons are that it takes until your next upkeep to resolve, and the other players can see it coming and it could get removed. Personally I don’t like Catastrophe because it is too expensive mana-wise, but it does have its uses as an alternative Wrath, if you think this will be advantageous in your meta.

Love Sram!

Might I recommend Catastrophe ? I love the modal aspect of it as it helps minimizes those situations where strict MLD will hurt you more than another player. Ooor you could go Cataclysm and just balance the whole board. Be smart about it and, after the rubble clears, you can definitely be left with the best pieces on the board.

I use both cards in my own Sram deck, though mine is a Voltron build and has very few creatures so these might be harder to run in yours. :/

If you have the coin, Flagstones of Trokair is pretty sweet with MLD out too ;)

As always, I would definitely ask your playgroup how they feel about having this much land destruction though. Speaking from personal experience, having too much can really throw off your own plans too.
