It makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

hungry000,I understand that Long-Forgotten Gohei might not be the best card choice here. Probably Honor of the Pure is better even if I'm running spirits and Devouring Greed. I'm not opposed to change it. The reason why I'm not including Sorin, Solemn Visitor, Bitterblossom, etc... is that my purpose is not to make a really competitive deck. Let's say that my aim is to build a deck around a concept in the best way possible and in this case the concept was to make a different version of the competitive BW Tokens decks that only runs spirit tokens to take advantage of Devouring Greed.

I don't know if I explained myself well or if it even make sense, but that's the reason I'm not putting Sorin in the list.

I was wondering why Nyxathid isn't played in modern in decks like 8-racks.

If you can make cards like The Rack and Shrieking Affliction work, Nyxathid could easily be a 6/6 or 7/7 for 3 mana.

I find it very good in a discard deck, I don't get why it isn't played. I made a research on mtg8 for decks including it, and the result only showed 1 deck.

Can someone clear it out for me?

Swarmyard? To regenerate Hornet Nest when you make it fight.

UPDATE

So I thought that the problem of the deck was that I was trying to make too many strategies fit in it, ending with none of them being very efficient.

Therefore I gave up the sacrificing strategies for a more straightforward deck based on spawning spirits, buff them, and just if needed use Devouring Greed.

I imagined. I was hoping that the second part of its effect would still resolve, but I had that feeling.

Thanks for making sure of that.

Let's say I have a Selfless Spirit on board. If I target it with Path to Exile to ramp and then I sacrifice Selfless Spirit in response for some reason (maybe I'm blocking the opponent's creatures), would I still be able to search for a land for the effect of Path to Exile?

Yes it should work with Spellstutter Sprite but I think you should pay 2 more to transform it first.

Why not Faerie Conclave instead of Creeping Tar Pit? It only gives blue mana yes, but you can probably work around that. It costs less to transform though, and it's a faerie. Scion of Oona would buff it and give it shroud. You could also transform it to avoid land destruction if used with the scion.

I added another Neoform in the sideboard because it's too important for the Healer of the Glade combo against aggro/burn decks even though when I removed it from the main board I added another copy of Omnath, Locus of the Roil which can also buff my Thunderkin Awakener.

Eventually I decided to cut 2x Neoform for the two cavaliers; 1x Vesperlark for 1x Omnath, Locus of the Roil; 1x Flickerwisp for 1x Lightning Skelemental.

In the games I played I didn't use a lot the tutor cards and I still have 10 anyway.

Vesperlark and Flickerwisp are not that necessary to be run in 4/3 copies. They were the only creatures I could think to cut to make more room for the new ones.

I don't know why I thought eldritch evolution worked the same way as neoform, but good to know that I was wrong.

I will see what other changes to make, cause yarok and the cavaliers are very good. Also, I did wanted to run a second copy of Omnath.

I don't know what to remove, so I will have to think about it a bit.

Thanks for these other suggestions.

So I played some games and the deck is great.

The thunderkin used with either spitebellows or skelemental is amazing.

I have to say, Omnath is really worth it. Its ETB ability is another removal and the second ability is great to buff thunderkin allowing him to return any creature on the battlefield. Even those in the sideboard when you use it.

One thing I missed was 4/5-cost elementals to curve out with the non creature spells. One game I couldn't use eldritch evolution because I had 3-cost creatures on the board and no more 5-cost creatures in the deck. For that reason maybe reveillark could have helped, but maybe there are better elementals that cost 5.

That wasn't my intention lol. Instead I wanted to point out that your suggestion was good, as the previous ones.

July 1, 2020 12:43 p.m.

Now that I think about it though, I already have flickerwisp for those cards. I also opted to run it 3x to make more space in the sideboard, so that I could keep 3x offalsnout and 4x healer. Also flickerwisp does a better job than reveillark with offalsnout since it has a LTB ability and not a ETB one.

I guess that I will once again follow your suggest and run 4x vesperlark then.

July 1, 2020 11:02 a.m.

I noticed that reveillark doesn't do much more than vesperlark too. But when using sb could be helpful for offalsnout and fulminator, even though it costs a lot more. I will test and see if it's worth it or not.

Ok, I understand now. Thanks for the suggestions!

TriusMalarky thanks for all this help. I see how good Thunderkin Awakener is in this deck.

I have a couple of noob questions to ask, not to question your cards choices, but to understand them:
