Regenerate and auras, equipment and counters

Asked by nismosean 12 years ago

If you have a creature and you activate regenerate on it and it takes it's lethal damage and is regenerated would it keep any counters, auras or equipment on it or do they all come off?

Does the creature actually go to the graveyard and then come back or does it just stay on the battle field like nothing happened and get tapped?

It stays on the battlefield like nothing ever happened

So all auras, counters and equipment stay attached to the regenerated creature.

Regeneration is a continuous effect that replaces the normal rules for destroying a creature. If a creature that has an active regeneration effect is destroyed by an effect or lethal damage, instead of being put into the graveyard it is tapped, removed from combat if possible, and all damage is removed from it. That's it; nothing else happens to the creature. Auras and Equipment will stay attached as long as it's still legal.
