TappedOut Proxy Cards for Unlisted Cards

TappedOut forum

As a new player, I've been working on deck making on TappedOut. I have two decks that I've been working on, but there are some cards that I can't add. For example, I want Eldrazi Scion tokens in the maybeboard of my colorless commander deck, but when I try to add them, TappedOut says it doesn't recognize the card name, so I can't add them to my deck without selecting "Skip validation", which means they don't show an image of the unknown card when you hover over the name. I want to be able to use these cards in my deck, so as a workaround, I used Wastes with images of the actual cards as alterations. Working on a standard Izzet pirate deck, I've been inspired by some of the Rivals of Ixalan cards. I want to add them to my deck on TappedOut, but because they're new, they're not in the system. I could add alters for every card I want to add from Rivals of Ixalan, but that's tedious. Instead, I'd like to know if there's a way to make proxy cards, or generic tokens with custom text or art, even if it's per deck. If there isn't a way to do this, I'd like to make a suggestion to add this as a feature. Maybe TappedOut could also have the deck listed with something along the lines of "This deck uses custom proxy tokens, and may contain illegal or nonexistent cards" so users know that the deck may not be legal for a certain format, as someone could easily add fake cards.

Hi there, I think this is more of a feature request so I moved it here.

What do you mean by you want the tokens in the maybeboard? Could you explain that a little bit more.

The maybeboard is irrelevant. I've added cards that I don't want contributing to my deck statistics to the maybeboard. I consider tokens part of that. What I'm talking about in this post, is that some of the tokens I wanted to use weren't available when I was trying to add them to my deck, so I used altered Wastes as proxies for the cards I couldn't add.

Also it seems that since I've made this post, my alteration privileges have been revoked. Is that correct? All of the alters in my deck have disappeared, and when I add them back and save they disappear again.

Nope, I think there's just some bug at play with alters right now.

But I also don't think that is a good solution. If the tokens are attached to a creature then when they finally get added, they will be associated with your deck. The trouble is that these simply haven't been added yet, but new ones are added frequently, especially with new sets. Upgraders are eligible to submit these tokens manually to the database, which then makes them visible to all.
