They sure are making a lot of bad moves on the part of the players. Where I am from there are no FMN's close enough to go to and I am running non-sanctioned events until I can figure something out. I got back in to Magic because I love the game and I thought things were moving forward to get more people into it. Now the way things are looking its going to be harder and harder to do that. I have had a really good turn out in the events I have been running, on average there have been 8 to 10 people for each event. I don't know if its going to be worth it to continue my efforts.

Yeaaaah, Paul texted me that this morning, it was like the first thing I woke up to. I sure am roused to participate in some useless Standard events now! This definitely is going to help drive me from Standard running and screaming.
I wonder if the Judge Rewards Program will still be running and just Players get hosed.
I have a feeling they're doing it to try and 'encourage' more people to play FNM, since that'll be the only place they can still get special edition cards.
Damn it, WotC.
