Confused with "Sync Inventory"-function

Hey All, I am new to this site and wanted to add my collection and decks.

I already asked this question in another forum section but got the suggestion to ask it here for better responses. So here I am.

I am a bit confused with the "Sync with Inventory" function.

Do I still need to add them to my Inventory and just create my decklist, check the "Sync" button and it will mark the related cards in my Inventory as synced? Or do I don't add them to the inventory at all and just create the decklist, check "sync" and it will add the related cards to my inventory?

I tried to figure it out the last couple of hours but I don't understand it. Especially because the update doesn't seem to be quick which is confusing me even more.

I would appreciate any help explaining the "sync" function and how to properly use it.
