Deckspert -
Began to play casual games when Revised was the current edition, but ended up mostly putting away cards sometime after Mirage came out as I had nobody to play with. I did play off and on at times, but it was very uncommon. I got back into playing more heavily when Shards of Alara came out and have regularly played ever since.
Being predominantly a casual player, I love building themed decks with which are interesting to see and interact. I didn't really put value in making a killer deck that consistently did the same thing every time - especially if it didn't have a fun theme to it. If you couldn't tell by my deck folders, I really like to experiment with many types of decks, including matched sets meant to be dueled against eachother.
I consider myself a fairly skilled casual player, as I have played with and taught a lot of family and friends. Beginning with Theros, I started getting into limited/draft play and have found that I enjoy it a great deal.
I have found the times when Magic is the most fun is when I am playing against people with decks of similar effectiveness. For this reason I've learned competitive decks can be just as fun to play in a competitive environment.
