Licia, sanguine tribune lifegain deck

After seeing Licia in the commander 2017 spoilers, I made a deck about him/her. Their are a few problems I can obviously see.

  1. Very low kill spells considering I'm in R/B/U

  2. Mainly I'm just trying to buff licia and a few others to hell, but that doesn't protect them for kill spells and wipes, so I need some hexproof/shroud/protection cards for them

  3. No mana rocks, which is a problem considering my 38 lands ATM.

  4. Very low red spells, although that's not too important.

1) You are in Mardu colors, you literally have the best removal in the game with these colors.

2) Best options are equipment like Darksteel Plate, Lightning Greaves, or Swiftfoot Boots. Many others exist too. You may want to do a equipment/aura theme with things like Sigarda's Aid. White really is the best equip color so you have that going for you.

3) The signets are solid choices and sol ring... Mardu doesn't have many good options for excel. Black Market is ok but only black. The up coming red curse has some potential. Oath of Lieges has despite being huggy really helped my marchesa deck.

4) Stick to what actually helps your deck. Vandalblast, Blasphemous Act, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Rakdos Charm are all good. Gisela really amps up your gain from lifelink.

I would get the vampire and cat deck so that you can steal the equip support from the cats. That should get you a really good starting point and some of the areas you feel lacking will be covered.

If your goal is to buff Licia, give her Sunforger and toss a ton of Mardu's best spells in. Things like:
Crackling Doom
Path to Exile
Swords to Plowshares
Vindicate
Anguished Unmaking
Kolaghan's Command
Lightning Helix
Deflecting Palm
Boros Charm
Retaliate
Reiterate
Fork
Wild Ricochet
Wing Shards
Utter End
Master Warcraft
Valorous Stance
Chaos Warp
Return to Dust
Mortify
Wrecking Ball
Terminate
Into the Core
Tempest of Light
Double Cleave
Temur Battle Rage
etc, etc...

...then toss in Tithe to go search up Mistveil Plains and put all those cards back in your library to use again.

@PhotogenicParasympathetic I would do that, but I am already running so many low creature decks at the moment that I want to mix it up a bit. However, I do need more destroy and exile spells, so I'll see which ones I feel are more important than the others to add.

@bhaal666 I currently have a deck that is based around equipment (More importantly, buffing the commander to hell so you can almost instantly win with one swing), and as said before I'm just shaking it up a bit. However, lightning greaves and swiftfoot seem useful, as well as the signets, so I'll try making room for those.

Thanks both of you for the suggestions, Still working on my deck building capabilities, so it's nice to have other peoples ideas.
