With Chatterfang, my Savra, Queen of the Golgari is finally being retired after many years. My Savra deck was in essence a squirrel deck, but it used Shadowborn Apostles to get there through Nantuko Shrine. Now that I have an official squirrel commander and in the golgari colors, I could not help but build it. I get squirrels and aristocrats all in one deck and could not be happier. Sadly, the squirrels have a morbid role to play, being they will die more often than they get to attack, but they are the back bone of the deck.

The goal of the deck is pretty straight forward: Create tokens and in turn create squirrels, use the squirrels as fodder for card draw/removal/draining and more, and on the occasion get the squirrelly wrath beatdown.

Notible Combos

Chatterfang + Pitiless Plunderer - This is probably the best known and the strongest combo. These two result in infinite ETB & death triggers, removal of all opponents creatures and infinite mana. The combo is simple and only requires a single black mana & squirrel token to get going (another creature type can be used if a outside sac outlet is used). Use the black mana to sacrifice the squirrel token This will net a treasure token and a squirrel token allowing you to repeat the combo as many times as needed. If your opponents have no creatures to target, you can target the squirrel you are sacrificing. Adding a second squirrel token allows for unlimited treasures. using a single treasure to sac the two squirrels will get two treasures & squirrels. Combine this with Fecundity effects and you can draw out your deck or Blood Artist effect to win the game.

Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest - Again, another well known combo which will next you infinite squirrels. Both pieces operate well on the field without the other.
